Predator by Dean Crawford

About Predator by Dean Crawford

Centuries after three quarters of the human population on earth fell victim to a savage plague, a new enemy rises to threaten the existence of humanity. As the case takes him into the depths of New Washington’s darkest corners in search of black-market organ smugglers, he realizes that the killer is not a human being at all. As remote outposts in nearby star systems start falling silent one by one, Nathan and the fleet realize that the killers are entities that have assumed the identities of their countless victims to infiltrate mankind, and that the invasion of Earth began long, long ago…

Author Bio:
Judy, a proud member of Novelists, Inc, a professional organization for writers of popular fiction was first published in the late 1970s. While maintaining her affection for the work of authors Anne McCaffrey, Robert A. Heinlein, and others, for years, she wrote romances of varying degrees of heat from “Let your fourteen-year-old read it” to “Wrap it in a plain, brown cover and hide it in your headboard.” The large majority of her work, however, was in between those two extremes. Eventually, though, her affection for Science Fiction/Paranormal began creeping into her romance stories, starting with a dead elderly aunt who jangles her bangles to alert others to her interfering presence; a nanny who turns out to be an elf with some extraordinary habits; a genie who washes up on a beach inside a plastic gas-can, his fancy bottle having broken in a storm; a man visiting from a far realm with the mental powers to draw a straight-laced woman into an adventure like she’d never dreamed of; an Earth damaged by weaponized bio-organic diseases; and another man from a future Earth who made life incredibly rewarding for a woman in that “plain brown cover and hide it in your headboard” book.
With her “Let’s play with mental abilities” genes tickling her imagination, she ventured into a novel, REFUGE, where children with special gifts such as teleportation, telepathy, telekinesis, and other such talents are in peril because the ruling body is terrified of them. That novel somehow required another one, LIFELINE, written as prequel as sequel, then a third, DIRTSIDERS, another prequel because she was having so much fun on the planet where her characters had landed purely by mischance. Never one to leave well-enough alone, Judy carried on at her characters’ insistence and wrote CAVERNS, where the whole series is tied together in the end. While each of the books in the Chronicles of Storn can be read as a stand-alone, most people want, having finished CAVERNS, to check out the preceding novels. But don’t feel obliged—though REFUGE, 2nd Edition. Book 1, is free in most digital formats.
After many years of military life, both in Europe and different parts of Canada, during which they raised two beautiful daughters, the family returned to Judy’s home, BC, Canada’s westernmost province. The girls finished growing up on BC’s Sunshine Coast, married and began delighting the couple with grandchildren. Despite that, fifteen years of living in one house, they developed desperately itchy feet. This led to a decade and a half of winters exploring Costa Rica and other parts of Central America from their little house in the jungle on the Caribbean side.
Judy and her long-suffering husband now live permanently on the Sunshine Coast where, as of this writing, it is currently raining. But that’s what keep the grass and trees green. When it’s not raining or blowing too hard (and sometimes when it is) the couple ventures out in their 34’ cabin cruiser, sometimes for weeks at a time, finding neat little anchorages up and down the coast and now and then dipping south into Puget Sound in Washington State to visit family and friends. Kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, eating fresh Dungeness crabs, prawns, clams, oysters, and making delicious chowders from almost any seafood available provide great pleasure. For more leisurely times, she loves reading books and writing reviews, editing other writers’ work, and doing crossword puzzles. Her laptop always accompanies her wherever she goes because a new idea is never far away.

Alien Warlords’ Child by Vi Voxley

About Alien Warlords’ Child by Vi Voxley

A warrior’s job is never done when it comes to those he needs to protect…

Laura Parker has a job that few would envy. As one of the few social workers on Octava, the Terran has to not only try and fit in, but protect children in a society that does not believe in that. As a new mother herself, after a one night stand she would have never thought she’d go through with, she knows first hand how fragile these little lives are… and she’s about to learn a lesson about how fleeting things can be.

Leon and Cage are men the darkest recesses of Octava fear the most. As the safekeepers and guardians of Octava, the Praetorians are feared and respected… but mostly feared. Though they understand one another completely, they rarely see eye to eye. Except when it comes to a certain curvy, spirited Terran. Finding out they’re fathers to a little girl is about to change their world, but this world might not be around for much longer unless they can band together and overcome their differences.

Will these two warriors know their child and get to truly love their mate, or is fate as cruel as Octava itself?
