About The Black Heart of the Station by Jay Allan Storey
Sixteen-year-old Josh Driscoll lives in the Station, a city constructed one kilometer beneath the surface of a frozen, lifeless earth. Forced to enroll as a novice monk at the Station’s resident monastery as punishment for stealing a space suit and traveling to the surface, Josh is gradually drawn into ancient texts which hint at the city’s origins, now lost in the mists of time.
Josh comes to believe that the Black Heart, a computer complex buried in a sector critically damaged by a massive asteroid strike centuries ago, holds the key to the mystery, and is vital to their future survival.
When the Station’s governing Council, of which his own father is a member, announces plans to reconstruct the sector and demolish the Black Heart, Josh forms a movement and leads a desperate battle to stop the demolition.
But can his tiny army of followers thwart the all-powerful Council in time to avert catastrophe?
